01 / Happier guests

Make your guests happier.

Original music made for business, matched to your venue — not picked from the charts.

85%Say good music makes them happier.BMI / NRG · Consumer survey, 2022

Independent research — not CXProMusic results.

85% and 79%

One online survey, run by NRG for BMI in 2022, of 1,000 U.S. adults who visit restaurants and bars at least three times a month. The figures are what respondents said about themselves — they are happier, and more likely to stay longer, when good music is playing. They are not measured increases in satisfaction or in time spent.

+9.1%

A 2017 field experiment across 16 chain restaurants in the Stockholm area, run by researchers at HUI with a music vendor: a playlist of only brand-fit songs raised revenue 9.1 percent compared with music that did not fit the brand. An experimentally observed result in those restaurants, not a guarantee for yours.

03 / Peace of mind

Don’t let music cost you thousands.

Even paid Spotify and YouTube Premium don’t include business playback rights.

Court-ordered payments over unlicensed public performances, 2015–2026

Civil copyright judgments, including fees and costs — not fines for using Spotify, and not a record of what was collected.

  • From October 2021, BMI wrote to the bar that a license was needed, then called about twenty times, sent at least five letters and several cease-and-desist notices. Nobody answered.
  • On 2 August 2023 a BMI representative spent about four hours in the bar and recorded the music. Six songs from BMI’s catalog were identified.
  • A final notice went unanswered; the suit was filed in September 2023; the bar never answered in court.
  • In March 2024 the court entered default judgment: $17,728.80 in statutory damages, $5,210.75 in fees and costs, and a permanent injunction.

On 10 March 2026 ASCAP announced 11 copyright infringement lawsuits against establishments across the country — lawsuits filed, not judgments — and 11 more on 20 October. ASCAP, 10 March 2026

Breaking a consumer service’s terms is not the same as copyright infringement. Whether a venue holds the rights it needs depends on the music, where it comes from and the licenses it holds; many venues hold blanket licenses from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR. This page is not legal advice for yours.

The ranges the law allows

U.S. copyright law lets a court award statutory damages of $750 to $30,000 per work, and up to $150,000 per work where the infringement was willful. These are the ranges a court may award, not the expected penalty.

CXProMusic includes the license to play our music in your venue.
